The Muslim Woman observes the legal veil each time she leaves her house; it is the Islamic habit that the texts of the Holy Quran and the Hadiths of the Messenger of Allah have unequivocally determined. She must not leave her house or appear before men, other than those who are prohibited from marrying her, scented or made up. She knows that the Holy Quran categorically prohibited such acts.

{And tell the believers to lower their eyes, to keep their chastity, and to show their attire only as it appears and that they fold their veils over their chests; and show their finery only to their husbands or fathers or to their brothers or to the sons of their brothers, or to the sons of their husbands, or to the Muslim women or to the slaves they possess, or to the servants helpless males, or impuberous boys who ignore all of the hidden parts of women. And that they do not strike with their feet so that one knows what they hide from their ornaments. And all repent before Allah, O believers! So that you may reap success}
[Sura 24 – Verse 31]

The conscious Muslim woman, therefore, does not belong to that category of under-dressed women that modern society knows, women who are lost and deviated from the way of Allah ; on the other hand the Muslim woman trembles for fear of the terrible image traced by the Messenger of Allah on these unveiled and made-up women who live in debauchery and moral corruption:

“I have not seen worse than two categories of inhabitants of hell, those with whips similar to cow tails and which they use to whip people; and the second composed of naked, vain women whose heads resemble the backs of camels because of their artificial toilets; they will hardly have access to Paradise and cannot even feel its breeze because it is so distant ”
[Reported by Muslim]

The mature Muslim woman, who learned pure Islam and grew up in a healthy environment under her dome, does not observe the Islamic veil by tradition or habit, but she observes it by conviction and with a heart full of faith in the command of Allah the Almighty.

She is convinced that this religion is revealed by Allah to preserve women from seduction, depravity and bewilderment. She therefore accepts it, with a satisfied spirit, a serene heart and a deep conviction. Such was the case of the wives of the Muhajirs (the emigrants from Makka Al Mukarrama) and the Ansars (the supporters of the Prophet in Al Madina Al Munawara) the day Allah revealed his command, which decided on this matter once and for all.

Al Bukhari reported that Aisha [may Allah be pleased with her] mother of believers said:

“May Allah have mercy on the first Muhajir women (emigrant women) when Allah says: Let them fold their veil over their breasts and cut their robes to fold them over their breasts. In a version of Al Bukhari also: “They cut their dresses from the borders to veil the face”.

In a version reported by Safiya bent shayba [may Allah be pleased with her]:

“We were at Aisha’s house talking about the benefits of the women of Kuraïsh when Aisha said: the women of Kuraish have benefits on us and by Allah I have never seen better than the women of the Ansars nor more believers in revelation ! the Sura of Light was revealed: “Let them fold their veil over their breasts” and the men turned to them reciting the verses revealed by Allah on their subject, each man reciting to his wife, daughter, sister and to any close woman; all the women complied and used the travel fabrics to veil themselves in all conviction by the revelations of Allah; they followed the Messenger of Allah all veiled ”
[Reported by Muslim]

May Allah have women Muhajirs and Ansars in his mercy, they have a solid faith and a sincere Islam. They submitted to the Koran as soon as it was revealed!

Any sincere believer in Allah and in His Messenger must follow the example of these virtuous women and thus observe the distinguished Islamic veil without paying any attention to the naked and made-up women around them.

This recalls the brave position of a veiled Muslim university girl, who is no less exemplary than the Muhajirs and Ansars women. A reporter, visiting the University of Damascus, asked her the reason for her veil and how she copes with the hellish heat of summer, she replied: “Say: the fire of hell is more hellish”.

It is through such conscious and pure Muslim girls that Muslim families are founded and that future generations are educated and that male builders are trained; and they are many, praise to Allah .

The Islamic veil is not an innovation of Islam, all the religions of Allah had encouraged women to veil themselves before the advent of Islam and this is what shows us what remains of these religions which have been altered and distorted.

We see this in the decent habit of nuns among Christians living in Islamic or Western countries and in the hairstyle of the Christian woman every time she goes to church. The current shameless disavowal of the woman’s right to the veil is a disavowal of all the divine religions from that of Abraham, Moses, Jesus [on them peace] to the pure religion of Islam.

It is a disengagement from the religion of Allah the One, who revealed it to all humanity for all time, the religion announced by his Messenger, generation after generation, in order to entrench the values of righteousness, of virtue and good in the human spirit and guide man on his path, the path of unity and submission to his will:

{The men were (originally) only a community. Then they diverged. And if it were not for a prior decision of your Lord, the disputes between them would have been settled}
[Sura 10 – Verse 19]

{“O Messengers! Eat what is permitted and enjoyable and do good. Because I know exactly what you are doing. This community, yours, is one community, while I am your lord. Fear me therefore “}
[Sura 23 – Verses 51-52]

{And the one (the Virgin Mary) who had preserved her chastity! We breathed into it a breath (of life) coming from Us and made her and her son, a sign for the universe. Certainly, this community which is yours is a unique community, and I am your Lord. Worship me then. }
[Sura 21 – Verses 91-92]
